| Split |
When a player receives 2 cards of equal value (e.g. 2 eights),
each of the 2 cards can be played as separate hands. The option allows the player
to double his bet. The player now has 2 separate wagers, each of which can be one
or lost. |

The rules allow you to resplit after splitting your first 2 cards. |

The number of hands that a player can resplit to.
Example: Can resplit to 3 hands: You split 2 eights and are dealt another eight. You
can resplit that 8 for a total of 3 separate hands. |
| Double Down |
One he has received his first two cards, a player has
the option of doubling down. This option allows the player to double his bet,
but he will only receive one additional card. Some rules limit the situations
where the player can double down (e.g. player has a 9, a 10 or 11) |
| Double After Split |
Rules that allow the player to double down after splitting. After splitting his first
2 cards, the player can choose to double down on the new 2 card hand dealt. The player
doubles up the bet on the split hand. |
Dealer Checks Hole Card

This rule specifies if the dealer checks the hold card for blackjack before playing
the players's hands. The key is if the dealer does not check the hold card then if
the dealer has a blackjack then players can lose their original bet as well as any
double down or split bets. In a no hold card, the dealer only deals himself one card
at the beginning (also know as the European no hole card rule) . |
| Dealer hits Soft 17 |
This blackjack rule specifies if the dealer has to stand or has to hit when he has
a total of soft 17 (see also soft hand). The table rules are specified ahead of time,
meaning that the dealer does not have the option. |
